COJ is Seeking a Director of Bereavement Counseling & Outreach
The Director of Bereavement Counseling & Outreach will support Companions on a Journey with our mission of bringing hope, strength, and healing to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Through group facilitation, community outreach, program development, and relationship management duties, the Director will be responsible for timely, professional, and caring support and communications to a variety of COJ’s stakeholders, including: bereaved adults, children, teens, and families; community partners; board members; donors; volunteers; and fellow staff.
We’re seeking a team player with bereavement/ mental health training and experience, top-notch relationship-building skills, and a special heart for grieving families to join COJ’s small, but mighty team. The anticipated work schedule for this position is 20-25 hours per week with the opportunity for a reduced summer schedule. This role will operate out of COJ’s West Chester offices, with some weekly time spent traveling locally for corporate and community outreach visits and COJ support group sessions held at various off-site locations. Some evening hours (up to 1-2 nights/ week) and occasional weekend hours will be required of this role. NOTE: Currently, our team is working mostly on a remote basis due to COVID-19.
